Mind In Balance Counseling services serves the communities of the central Oregon Coast. Access to rural communities is provided via phone and web cam.
Counseling services include individual and couples counseling to address depression, grief, anxiety, loss, healing from trauma, healing from an abusive relationship and navigating transitions. This practice is inclusive and welcoming to individuals and couples of diverse backgrounds and lifestyles.
Rather than helping people to just survive, she helps them to thrive.
Carol is a licensed clinical social worker who has been in practice for more than 20 years. Carol received her B.A degree at Northwestern University and her MSW from New Mexico Highlands University. She then worked for Intensive Family Services for more than a dozen years, providing in home family counseling to individuals, couples, and families. In addition she also developed and ran a treatment focused group for women who were healing from abusive relationships, taught classes to foster parents, and provided clinical supervision to therapists. She has studied with Stephen Gilligan and now coordinates his yearly supervision in the Pacific NW. She has also been trained in Somatic Experiencing, including advanced training using touch skills.
She is skilled at working with survivors of trauma, childhood abuse, depression, grief and anxiety.
Carol brings to her work a solid foundation of meditation practice. She has been practicing meditation and mindfulness for over 15 years. She has a commitment to professional training, personal growth, maintaining a daily spiritual practice, doing frequent retreats, and traveling to India to study and do meditation retreats.
Carol loves her work! She uses some of the most powerful and up to date approaches and tools.
